SNGPL to Restart Long-Delayed LPG Project in Chitral

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) is set to restart the long-delayed LPG air-mix project in Chitral. The project was originally approved several years ago but remained stalled due to various reasons.
Chitral is a remote and mountainous district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where access to natural gas has long been a major issue. The LPG air-mix project was designed to supply gas to residents who do not have access to the main gas network.
The project was first approved during the previous PTI government. However, progress slowed down after a change in administration. Now, efforts are being made to revive and complete the project so that local communities can finally benefit.
Officials said the project will help meet the energy needs of Chitral and reduce the hardships faced by residents, especially during the winter season. Once completed, it is expected to provide a reliable gas supply to households in the area.
The revival of the project has been welcomed by local representatives, who say it is an important step toward improving basic facilities in the region. They stressed that timely completion is essential to address the long-standing energy problems of Chitral while also ensuring environmental protection.
