CM Sohail Afridi Approves Swat Motorway Phase II

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has approved the start of Swat Motorway Phase II to boost tourism and economic activity in the Malakand Region. He decided during a meeting with Malakand parliamentarians at the Chief Minister’s House. The meeting also reviewed Provincial Transmission Line Project Phase II and discussed the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27 and new projects.

Officials were directed to remove obstacles delaying the transmission line, so the province can fully use its hydropower electricity. Preparations for Shaheed Arshad Sharif University of Investigative and Modern Journalism, the Livestock University Project, and the Engineering University Project under the DFC scheme were also ordered to speed up.

The meeting agreed to upgrade hospitals across Malakand based on local needs. Special royalty accounts will ensure funds are used for local development. Other discussed projects include Rustam Ambela Road, Barawal Mastuj Road, Dir Cadet College, Talash Bypass, and Chitral Nursing College. Parliamentarians were asked to submit priority schemes by March 15, and follow-up meetings will start next week to ensure timely implementation.
