The Landi Kotal tehsil government district has launched a small-scale skills and arts development project to train local youth and women. The programme is being carried out under the supervision of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid said 40 male and 25 female students were selected through a merit-based process. They will receive training in solar repair, medical billing, and patient care.
The training programme will run for 45 days and will be delivered by the Shaheed Rural Support Programme. The aim is to help women join the workforce and support the local economy. Officials said participants will receive training, toolkits, and certificates upon completing the course.
