The plan will be presented to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for approval. Officials said the government is reviewing measures used during the COVID-19 pandemic that could be revived if needed to conserve fuel.<\/p>\n<p>The Cabinet Committee on Energy, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, discussed proposals with federal ministers. One plan is to adjust petroleum prices weekly from March 8 for a faster market response. Authorities also reviewed global oil conditions and possible ways to manage demand, including energy-saving measures and remote work during fuel pressure periods.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the government is closely monitoring petrol stations and fuel stocks to prevent hoarding or illegal storage. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will oversee supplies, and authorities said the country\u2019s current petroleum stock levels remain within required limits.<\/p>\n<p>The Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP) said some local refineries reduced supplies after the government kept petroleum prices unchanged in the last review. Officials said the prices were set after reviewing market conditions and aimed to protect consumers. The committee also reviewed LNG and LPG supplies.
